We have learned that the Japanese version of the LR-1 compact personal copier, marketed by Ricoh between 1988 and 1989, had a small number of reported incidents. Those reports indicate that there is a small risk of smoke emission and the possibility of a fire due to the affects of aging in one of the internal circuit boards.
No incidents of this type have been reported outside of Japan.
